A gift returned…

Several years back when I graduated from College, Kim threw a graduation party for me and her then boyfriend, Joe. As much as I wanted to, I couldn’t afford to help pay for the party. That boyfriend is now her wonderful husband. Kim and Joe exchanged vows in a private ceremony at a beautiful island in Hawaii a couple of days ago.

Prior to them leaving for Hawaii, I was given the opportunity to return the favor. I learned quickly that I didn’t know the first thing about putting a bachelorette brunch together. I am so blessed to have such great friends who have pulled together and helped me with all the details. Michelle, Christine, Sandy, and Mike, thank you for helping me put the pieces together. Shellie thanks for the advice!! Aries, you did a fantastic job once again. You’re a trooper for hanging out with a bunch of girls and listening to all the girl talk stuff…

To the newlyweds, our newfound friendship means the world to me. I wish you all the blessings and many happy beginnings!

Super Girl: The early years

What do you get when you combine a Filipino Bo Jackson (if it has anything to do with a ball, Mike's probably won a championship with that sport) and a girl that has no physical limits (Sandy ran her very first Gate River Run in record time and managed to capture her entire race with her camera)? You get Mikayla…

Mikayla derives from the name Michaela a feminine form of the hebrew name Michael. Which means "Who is like God?" or in other words....SUPER HUMAN!!!!

With the combination of her parent’s athletic abilities, kind heart and approachable personalities, Mikayla is the making of one well rounded individual who will have a plethora of friends as her parents do. But that all comes later, right now Mikayla is more concerned about snack time, playing with her dog Buster, sitting in her favorite miniature sized Dora sofa and the newest thing…wearing Princess dresses. She loves shoes, and will often be occupied taking her shoes off; just so she can immediately slip them back on.

This is why I enjoy photographing kids so much. They help me to appreciate the simple things life has to offer. Oh to be a child again…
